Texas State University and The Local Business Institute intend to conduct a needs assessment study of small local business needs as we emerge from the pandemic. The past year has required local businesses to reinvent themselves and operate in very different and innovative ways just to survive. Many did not and more will close due to their debt burden and other factors. But what are those factors? What do businesses need in this new environment as we look to leave the pandemic behind.

Distressed areas and businesses have suffered more than most as they often lack the community connectivity and resources of more thriving businesses. We knew what was needed before the pandemic but what is needed now? That is the question we seek to answer.
